Oh Soh Thankful.

Christmas is by default my favorite holiday, (Noelle. Contractually obligated.) but Thanksgiving is officially my close second!
I've been looking forward to this Thanksgiving weekend for months! My mom and I made a deal: she buys the ingredients, I make the dinner. Everybody's happy.

Torrey and I came down the night before to a barrage of wiener dog love.
The purest of love.

I spent all day happily cooking, while my mom kept making sure that I was doing this out of free will.  They couldn't believe that I actually enjoyed cooking all by myself, but that's my favorite thing! The kitchen is my sanctuary.

Dinner turned out perfect.

I make the BEST apple crumb pie, if I do say so myself ;)

The next few days Torrey and I vegged out on the luscious leather couches that I've logged years of napping on, switching between Food Network and football games ( I miss you..) and walking the dogs!

New best friends!

Baloo latched onto Torrey. We think he declared us as his substitute parents, and followed us around the entire time.

And we made it on the wall! I love our gorgeous wedding photos, so I'm glad my mom go them up quick! They sit right over the kitchen table too, so we can look over everyone while they eat (seems appropriate!).

sister wall <3
Thanks to Pintrest, I made the cutest wreath! It's not fully done, but I couldn't resist putting it up! My mom is was glad to see I've got some craftiness in me (she's the craftiest crafter on the planet). Finishing it this weekend for sure.

I was so sad to leave Murrieta. I miss seeing my family all the time, but I'm lucky they live so close! Now I'm in full Christmas mode. Watch out Santa..Noelle's coming!
P.S. Reminiscing of last year's Thanksgiving in New York. Visiting my sister, eating the greatest food on the planet, and running around with this guy
How time flies :)

Lost Engagements

I recently rediscovered my engagement photos. I forgot how beautiful they are! I deemed most of them unworthy of being in the invitation (because most of them don't show both of our faces directly) and I never looked at them again. But they are perfectly fit to go on our future vanity wall!!

Such a beautiful setting. Someday we will run away to New York.

Happy Veteran's Day!

I have never paid to much attention to this holiday. Now that I am married to my wonderful soldier, it has so much more meaning. Torrey works so hard at his regular job, then has his military duties on top, I couldn't be more proud of his strong work ethic. I now see how much military families sacrifice and I am so thankful for their service to our country, and I see how incredibly lucky we are that Torrey's service hasn't had to go further than one weekend a month. It's great that we have a day set aside just to celebrate them!

I found out that tons of places give free meals or discounts to those on active military duty on Veteran's Day!
BJ's, Denny's, T.G.I. Fridays, tons of places! I texted Torrey all of his options (he chose Olive Garden mmmm..), and during my research I found out the Knott's Berry Farm gives free tickets to veteran's and active duty  including a guest throughout November. JACKPOT :)
I  love Knotts. My parents used to take us there all the time growing up, and I have tons of  memories from it: being terrified of Montezooma's Revenge, Lacey making me sit in the front of the Xcellerator, and riding the Huff n' Puff until I was too old to fit.
We went on Saturday, and got a couple of rides in before the rain kicked in.
It was more fun than it looks

I was glad to see that so many establishments that took the time to recognize those that have served our country. Next year we are totally milking it and going to Knott's every single day ;)

PS. I love love LOVE my new blog header! I wish I knew how to do this stuff myself, but thank goodness for sites like Shabbyblogs that help out the html-impaired!

Good Wife=Good Food.

This is a literal thought that constantly runs through my head. A big part of what can contribute to my new little family is my ability and willingness to cook. I pack lunch for the two of us every day, and make dinner most nights (Cafe Rio Taco Tuesdays give me a little break!). Not only are we saving money, but it helps us eat healthier, and I love doing it!
Lately I've been exploring my baking side, making pumpkin bread,

pumpkin chocolate chip cookies,

and strawberry oat muffins!

We're feeding the missionaries next week, who will be our first guests for me to feed in our home, and I can't wait! They have no idea of the world of deliciousness they're in for!
Plus I'm practically counting the days until Thanksgiving break, so that I can cook for my family. Nothing makes me happier than making the people I love happy, and cooking for them is the best way I know how.

Whats my favorite part? Torrey and I doing the dishes together every night. He washes, I dry, and we talk about our days and grow closer together :)
